My mom's BF has a '76 Vette. It's been bored .40 over and has the typical bolt ons. Well he is selling his sail boat and wants to do some work to the car. I was curious what would be some good heads to throw on it. And also if anyone might have some for sale?

Generic small block chevy, parts are everywhere.

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1249&prmenbr=361 for example.

Look around, you can always find sbc parts.

AFR makes good heads.

Trick flow twisted wedge heads for SBC are good.

Eddlebrock Alunimum heads are good.

The GM fastburn aluminum heads are good.

Holley Systemmax Heads are good and you can get them in a matched set of Heads, Cam\lifters, intake and Carb to make a dyno proven set up.

Since it is .040 over it more than likely already have pistons that are good for 9.5:1 compression, but depending on the type of piston (cast forged, or hyperuetectic) and how long ago it was done he may want to go to a .060 overbore and ad new slugs rings and bearings. Hope this helps.
