The cars? Any decent Hobbyshop. We frequent HobbyTown on N Dale MAbry.

The cars aren't exactly cheap, as they can run several hundred dollars. The 3 of us actually have all owned these cars for years, and just "brushed the dust" off of them and modified them for drifting.

If your interested, I suggest you read up on the more popular types of RC cars and try Ebay....save some $$$ ;)

that's pretty cool. gotta love that synchronized ying-yang trick.

you should try overdubbing BOV sounds and squeeling tires. that would rule.

Here's something that I know a bit about. If you wanted to get one, any 1/10 touring car would work, you just have to fabicate your own pvc wheels. There are a bunch to choose from, I personally like the tc3, but you can get like a tamiya tl-01, or rs4. Electrical tape on the tires works, but it's harder to control that with pvc, because it's uneven. I think it's a good hobby to get into, they are fast, and as realistic as it comes to scale racing.

The tc3 is about $230 rtr (ready to run) all you need is a 7.2v stick pack, and peak charger. The rs4 comes in a lot of versions, rtr or kits, while the tl-01 is a dirt cheap Kit requiring you to build it, and add electronics and radio. There are so many options out there... it's mind boggling. You can also choose the micro rs4 1/18 scale, (about 9 inches long) if you want to drift in your driveways or something.

Funny....One of My cars (not in the video ) is a TC3. She'll be drifting by Late this week. She has all kinds of hop-ups too.

In the video, there were 3 cars.
Mercedes (owned by STR8_UP): Schumacher CF Chassis

Beetle (Owned by U13SER):
TB02 with alot of aluminum

Supra (owned by me):
TB02 ....stock.

And we choose PVC because it's fun. As soon as my TC3 is ready, we'll be shooting the next video...it will be ALOT better.

And if anybody that lives in N Tampa, and wants to join and have some fun, just let us know.

Well, did you buy a new set of rims and put the pvc on, or just slip it over the tires? Slipping it over the tires would give you versatility, so you can race or drift, but it might ruin the looks of it.

all we did is take tires off and slip 2in pvc on the rims and use a little super glue to hold it on.if you cut the pvc to the with of the wheel it looks good plus we use grey (conduit) pvc not white.one last thing you hafto put the camber to 0deg. for the drift to work.

Rims are CHEAP. I have probably 5 sets sitting right here.... Only 1 has PVC so far, but I'm planning on adding PVC to a set of Taimaya 2-piece rims. Front and Rear rims are all of $20 total, and the PVC lasts a long time.

heh, thanks. My hobby shop moved and is now abour 40 min away when it was about 10. I'm hoping to sell my nitro rustler for some $$ for my other rc cars.

I'm waiting for those yokomo drift bodies. I wanna get me a hold of that 240sx with the lazy eyes. Ya know what works other than pvc pipe? Take one of those aquafina waterbottles, cut the center into 4 3/4 inch peices, put double sided tape on the inside, and slip it over the tires. It works, but that's if you don't have pvc or a spare set of rims around. I would be interesting to see how your suspension settings work with it.

I was going to wait for one of the Yokomo bodies as well (AE86 ;) )....but I found another body that I just LOVE. You'll be seeing it soon, it's getting painted as we speak. IT's gonna be a bad-ass drift body (and fairly rare too).

EDIT: AG04: Are you going to the Drift Day on Feb 21st? We will be there, and I'm sure we'll have the cars there too.

The rc's? ok, I might take my tc3. I did the pvc mod, and am trying to find a good setup for it. It's hella fun to drift it, but a dodge stratus... c'mon! I'm thinking getting like an s15 body or like some car that can drift well and putting it on my tc3. I need to get more battery packs, maybe I can get a few duratrax cheapos.

What settings do you roughly have? I had a bit of toe in on the front, and negetive camber on all fours. But I didn't take the time to mess with it. Looking fordward to dday, and maybe I can talk my parents into letting me use the vid camera.

I don't know how long it's going to take to get my batts charged off the car batt, though it's going to take like 30 min. Nay, I have so many other rc's.....
