So I see it only took one night to get over 1000 views and over a 160 replies to my first thread. Oh yes that was just the beginning!
So I'm out at Gandy last night and I guess all the v-8's were scared of my 4 cylinder rocket launcher, or as some monkeys said on my last post, they didn't want to waste their gas because they didn't want to be embarassed.
So I figure since the 8 cylinder crew was afraid to step it up, why not call out the big boys in Tampa with their 3 cylinder Metro's.

Is there a green civic si and black evo that raced an Altima on 60 tonight? If your a member on this site, good race. Better luck next turbo upgrade.

I saw 6 cylinder camaro taillights on my first run. So I'm sure you could beat me with ease, the funny thing is he only ran a 15.6 and I pulled in a 17.1. Second run was a little more than a second faster.

If I had a car that slow I would probably just borrow my Grandmother's lincoln and drive that around. I think a lincoln town car has a better 1/4 mile time than 15.6 that is downright embarassing. I apologize for challenging you. I thought that you genuinely had a quick car. If I would have known that you were driving a nissan altima with a turboed Briggs and Stratton motor, I would have wasted my time elsewhwere. Please except my apology and go to a forum where guys brag about how fast their go-peds are. I think that you may stand a chance there.

Again I am sorry. Good luck with the whole go-ped thing and try not to race any geo metros. You are no match for them and they would be wasting their gas racing you to 25mph. (your top end speed)

I also have a '96 ALtima SE for the family truckster. It can pull 16.3 in the quarter. While not fast by todays standards, when it debuted in 11 years ago in '93 it was a pretty quick family car.

My Alima has over 130K miles on it and runs strong. It's the same 2.4 liter engine you'd find in a 240SX. Stock, they have 150HP. Mine is the SE, so it's a 5 speed car, it has all wheels discs, sunroof, stiffer KYB shocks, and fat sway bars. Some SE's even have LSD! I have a cheap-o turbo muffler on it, good plugs and wires, and a K&N airfilter. It's no hot rod, but when I was autocrossing it, I embarrassed some cars/drivers that would otherwise cream me on the strip.

So hate Idrvaltima all you want, but don't hate the car. :D

Yes, 16.3 is quick for a family car. However my family car ran a 9.72 at sunshine on the motor with little more than a hypertech programmer and has since gone 14.48 in the quarter with exhaust and a little ( 2.56 to a 3.08 ) more gear, and it weighs 4300lbs.. I understand what you are saying, but for anyone to come in here with a 16 second anything and start talking shit is just plain stupid, and being that this is a car oriented site, the car is going to be involved in the shit talking. Altimas are nice cars, but certainly not race cars. Nobody meant to offend you, but seriously, 16's aren't fast, I don't care what it is.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought my car would've pulled a slightly faster time than a 16 flat. By no stretch of my imagination do I consider that even somewhat fast, but for an altima thats rated brand new at a 16.3 in the quarter and I ran 3/ 10 of a second faster, I was pretty :o.

Good try lug, I have been unemployed for the last couple of months because I received a healthy settlement from this other kid's insurance company because he decided to run a red light and t-bone me. My car was demolished and I underwent therapy for it. Oh btw, I was with my prior company for four years. I must've done something right to be there for that long. :)

I've just been kidding around this whole time. I do like all types of racing and I know my car doesn't stand a chance against yours or any others on this forum. I thought it was ironical to see people getting all bent out of shape over a few ridiculous comments that I made. From here on out, I'll be a little more laid back with my posts and be myself. Good point, thats why I'm getting another car just for a weekend driver/ racer. I'm still debating on whether I should get a CRX or a 240sx. All I need is 300 hp in the CRX to run 12s, and a whole lot more in the 240sx. If you had to pick between the two, what would you do?

That definitely crossed my mind a few times. Just not very keen on Mitsu., although the DSM 1 gen is a bullet proof block practically. This car will be driven to the track so reliability is a factor.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a good 1st gen motor/project, pm me. I started to do a 90 eclipse about a year and a half ago and lost interest when I got the Buick. I have a motor with eagle rods, JE pistons, ferrea valves and springs, never been started. I have the whole car, but it's a little rough, would still make a good project though. Just to answer all the questions now, it is a FWD, not AWD.
