Strokers in the past were basically DBdrag only type subs. I can't imagine they would sound very good.

From what I've heard, CV originally made those for sq...so you would think they should sound pretty nice. But yeah, those are some of the best out there..I've seen single sub setups in excess of 150dBs. They can handle like 3000w RMS too....

again clearly....

Someone on another forums said the buble was to make it more rigid? Something about the second spider being not rigid enough? But i dont know, it was the same thing in the original stroker

that setup cut's down on cone surface area, it would give it more excursion.........

as far as CV's and kickers, leave em and get some JL's.........

Was wondering the same thing. Would think it would be more. Plus why would cutting down surface area be a good thing ne ways.

that was my understanding... more surface area = more air the cone can come in contact with to move...

It's all about the swept volume

you DO want more surface area, putting a larger surround cuts away from the cone area.........

thus less air moved unless you make it on the flip side with more excursion........

oh shit, ya know what, i didnt even notice the dome, i was just talking about the really huge surrounds.........

i dunno WTF the dome is good for........ maybe it creates some type of pressure balance or something........

im betting the dome is still just there for protection..

and the surround looks to allow for some nice excursion

More excursion, means more air moving. And surface area is surface area...doesn't matter if it's made up by the cone or surround.
