AVE is really good. JJ is a really nice guy. I also heard Stereorama was pretty good but ive never been there. But yeah definitely try and do it yourself or have a friend (or someone on TR) help u do it cuz ull save a ton of money and ull know how all the wires are so its easier to fix or modify anything in the future.

i think i could install it myself...its not THAT hard...is it? im not goin some completely custom route...just a simple box with an amp mounted, most likely, to it. the only thing i might not be able to do is the deck, cuz itll have to be a custom thing sorta.

Well, if you decide to have someone else do it and want to save a little by not paying big bucks at a shop...hit me up.

Shouldnt be that hard to install everything. Just get a new dash kit 20 bucs at CC or Bestbuy, if your not sure about wireing the deck CC has wire harnesses that just plug in to the deck and your factory harness. No soldering or crimping needed. You can save alot of money doing it yourself. Im sure people here can help you if you need it.

PS. Maybe look at some stuff other than Kenwood. Pioneer decks are nice and maybe a JBL 1200.1 amp for the type r's.

What size speakers do you have right now?

:D

I'll second JBL amps...they are awesome for the money.

actually its up to you to have a shop install it or not. but i do know that kenwood products can be installed by individuals and keep the warrenty. but Kenwood eXelon must be installed by an authorized dealer just like JL Audio or MB Quarts to keep the warranty..
