Ive heard some stuff (not sure what model etc) but it was loud, but that was it.. I didnt like it with a kick drum..

also ca&e reviewed them and said it was peaky in the 45 hz range which is about right for a sub designed for the hip hop oreinted.. i prefer my stuff a little more sq.. flat

Your best bet on picking out a sub is to listen to it first with your own ears. I personally have an Audiobahn and really like it, although I have heard systems where they sound like shit. It really all depends on install and how much power you're throwing at it. No, ofcourse you can't compare it to a L7 or W7 that costs 6x as much...but for the money I think they are well worth it.

one thing i hate, no offense to u or anything is when a alternative guy puts a system in his car. its just awful, rock isnt supposed to be played with bass, ever since i put my system in my car, ive hardly maybe never listened to rock. i leave that for when i get home. ur not gonna notice alot of bass, trust me.

That's not entirely true...there's just different frequencies of bass and rock really shines more in the <50hz range. So you should pick some subs accrodingly. Rock can sound amazing if you pick the right equipment and properly tune your setup...but yeah, trying to play a rock song on a system set up for rap is going to sound awful.

ur right, itd go to best buy if anything, go mess around with their equipment and play rock music and find the setup u like.

HEll... even the K series is great! My sister's e12k.14 has tons of bass in her 1999 Altima.

ok...im completely dumb as far as systems and ohms and all that shit goes...tell me if this would be a good combo...??

2 kicker solobaric L7s. 12s or 15s(opinions on both) and

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3069524177&category=18797

that amp...would that be a good combo?? i dont wanna hear "rock sounds like shit on systems" and that nonsense...just an answer to the question. TIA
-dan

**edit**
or instead of 2 solobarics....what about 2 JL 12W6's??(cant afford W7s)

also...u guys say audiobahn subs suck....what about their amps??

what about this amp... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3070163473&category=18797

Sony has a good name to back it up...anyone heard anything on this amp??

I'd go with just one L7 and that amp. Those subs can handle gobs of power and it will be performing more to it's full potential than if you had to split the power up between the two. Plus, I don't know how much trunk space you have to work with but those subs really perform in ample air space...so my vote is for a single sub. I'm sure you would be more than impressed with that setup.

As for Sony car audio...IMO, Audiobahn is 10x better.

AS far as amps go.. as logn as it puts out rated power...
