Ok, so I im installing this system in my friends stock 03 accord. (dont flame the system i didnt choose it i just install)--2 Xplod 12's and an Xplod 1000 watt amp. I used a high-low converter which ran off the back speakers in the rear deck, then ran the RCA to the amp. I also used the 12V ignition wire from the cigarette lighter, and yes i checked to make sure the lighter turned on and off with the ignition versus the ones that are always on. All the rest of the stuff is the same as any other car. Everything works fine, except when he turns OFF his stock head unit, the subs blast really freakin loud. I dont know what to do, as Ive never had a problem like this before.

Please help!!!!!

Relay turn-off pop is caused by components in the system turning off before the amplifier completely shuts off. In most cases, the component will be an EQ or signal processor. Usually adding a little turn-off delay to the offending processor can fix the problem. This allows the processor to turn off after the amplifier, preventing the pop. Many components have this feature built in, and it is adjustable. Check the manual to see if your component has this feature available. If not, you can build your own delay circuit with a diode and a capacitor. Add a 1N4004 diode in series with the processor's turn-on lead, striped side toward the unit. Then add a capacitor in parallel, the positive side of the cap connected to the striped side of the diode, the negative side of the cap to car chassis ground (not to the body of the radio or processor chassis). Experimenting with the capacitor value will give you just the right amount of delay before the EQ shuts off. You don't want the delay very long, just long enough to make sure the amp is off before the EQ powers down. Usually 220 - 1000uF is about right. Make sure that the cap is a polarized electrolytic, 16V or higher.

shit bro lol i think u went a little bit out of my knowledge range. But it isnt just a pop, its constant bass like theres backfeed coming from somewhere. The kid who has the system, he just called telling me that the amp will completely power off until he turns the car off then on again. Im thinking I should just bring it somewhere to get it fixed cuz i dont wanna fux it up anymore lol. The kid with the accord goes to UCF so hes gonna come back sometime soon so I can fix it. If anyone would like to give me a hand or tell me exactly what to buy/do in dumbass terms for me lol id greatly appreciate it...ill buy u lunch or something if u wanna help me work on/fix it.

Thanks
Kevin

P.S.
the kid bought the Xplod stuff from that huge sale thing at the pinellas park expo center this weekend...and ive heard those places are ghetto so I dont know if that makes a difference in terms of the amp not functioning. He said he has a 1 year warranty, i might just tell him to return the amp and ill tell him which amp to buy and ill hope this will solve both the noise when the head unit is off and the amp not working. does this sound like a good idea...just get a new amp?

go to radioshack and get a polarized 47uf capacitor and an IN4001 diode. that's 47 micro farad. connect the ground side of the cap to ground, connect the other side of the cap to your remote wire. cut the remote wire on the radio side of the capacitor and put a diode in with the strip of the diode facing the amp.

It sounds confusing, but once you pick up the parts, it will make sense

I had a similar probablem in a focus with 2 mtx 12s and an mtx amp. And the conveter for the RCAs didnt seem to let it have enough power, so i told her to buy the cd player she wanted, it fixed all the problems.
