keith is right. i've built my SOHC 89 CRX Si motor and it hits as hard as my b16 for way more money than my b16.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

in the end do what you feel comfortable with and what makes it fun for you. no matter how you spend your money if you don't have fun you won't enjoy it at all.

To answer your question, no. Do what Keith said and get the DOHC, preferrably a GSR.
