Figured this would be a simple case of soldering some leads, plugging in the reciever, and driving away with the music blaring. Well that ain't the case. I need some help with the wiring so if someone could please tell me what the following leads are for, I'd appreciate it.

- Phone Mute Lead: Guessing I don't need it whatever it's for
- Bus Power Lead: Some type of system bus? Do I need to hook it up?
- Amplifier Turn-on Lead: Don't have an amp, just factory speakers so I'm just going to leave it be
- Auto Antenna Lead: For a power antenna I'm guessing? Since I don't have one I'll just leave it unconnected.

Everything else on the harness is pretty straightforward. I'm just not too familiar with car stereo installs so the above don't really mean much to me. Thanks.

Ok...don't everyone rush to my aid at once. One at a time please...

So far I've found that:

I should leave the Phone Mute Lead unconnected since I don't have a celluar hookup in the car (grounding it would mute the radio apparently).

Since I don't have an amp, I should leave the Amp Turn-on Lead unconnected.

The Auto Antenna Lead should remain unconnected since I don't have a powered antenna (self-retracting).

So...WHAT THE HELL IS A BUS POWER LEAD?!?! ARRRGGHH!!!

Well found out what the Bus Power Lead does. It provides power to accessory add-ons such as CD changers, etc. While it would make sense to leave it unconnected on my application, it is not possible and therefore must be connected. So...I soldered it in line with a constant 12V source and now I'm good to go. Head unit is installed and working just fine. Thanks Bill!!!

Well it's in and it's working now. Pretty damned nice unit. I'm loving the color options. But yeah, you're right. The Clarion manuals absolutely suck ass.
