Most people only do 4 speaker systems but i wanna do an 8 speaker one - how do I do that - isn't each chanel an input or a speaker? let me know i'm a novice in car audio let me know thanks

External amp...
Theres no way ull be able to power 8 speakers using the h/u internal amp, hell i cant even power my alpine components with my 60x4 h/u amp, if i blast it too loud the tweeters cut out. Plus, ull be able to tune the speakers better...not allow any bass to go to em so they wont get distorted (assuming you have at least 1 sub or something for a little bass).
So in novice terms...youd have to run the wires from h/u and battery to the amp, then run speaker wire from the amp to the 8 speaker locations. Youd also have to cut new holes in the rear deck or door panel for rear, and door panel or kick panel for front. Im sure if you specify what car this is going in, and what kind of speakers you are getting, we all can help more.
I suggest spending ur money on 4 excellent quality speakers and a pretty nice amp instead of 8 lesser quality speakers and a bigger less quality amp, unless you have ungodly amounts of money.
if you have any questions, im usually on AIM-kpr10is or pm me or just post threads...most audio people dont mind sharing their knowledge. and depending on where you are located, i can install dirt cheap, or just have a friend do it, but dont go to an audio shop, theyll rip u off, and ull leave not knowing shit. By learning with a friend u know every in and out of ur stereo and wiring, and can fix problems that come up in the future.
Yea-im bored and just typed a huge amount for a simple question. lol
Peace man, good luck

Alot of SQ setups only front speakers, so 8 really isn't necessary. If more is better to you though, you could go with some good 3 way components (6"woofers, 4" mids, and tweeters with 2 x-overs) in the front on a nice size amp and if you have the money just throw some full ranges in the back for a little rear fill (but not necessary). If you've got decent subs, they're gonna easily overpower any rear speakers anyways. That's just my .02.
you could wire two in 8 ohms and another 2 in 8 ohms, then wire those pairs for 4 ohms, do that agian on another channel.. the wattage will be like 7 wrms to each but hey...
