i went to a friends house, went in, when i went to leave, the face plate no longer worked, the head unit would just sit in the halfway point like it wanted me to remove the faceplate. it hasnt worked since, anyone had this issue before, anyone know what i should do about it? thanks in advance.

I had that EXACT same problem with my X815. I let my roommate borrow it and it came back like that. I never did get it fixed I just sold it to someone on here.

It is the ribbon cable. Very common on these head units. Kenwood is not the only one to use them also. Costs about $100-$125 to repair.
