Belated Hello

Hey everyone, just another new guy to TR introducing myself. I recently picked up a pseudo-racecar and decided I could finally show my race in a car forum, behold my V6 Bird ;) Just wanted to say hi to everyone and proclaim my noobism offically, and ask a question. What in the heck does ibtl mean? I searched for it, and someone said In Before the Lock, could anyone elaborate further?

Oh yeah, also, I've made a few posts here alraedy, and a couple peopel have sorta gotten into it with me. Just wanted to let ya'll know that I respect anyone's car thats nice enough to run with the rest of ya, and make nice nice and all that good stuff. Look forward to my time here, already read some interesting stuff!

Also, I was wondering if there is any legal place in or near Tampa that is just open for people to go to (at a low cost perhaps?) and just have fun in their cars, run them, autocross them, whatever them. Seems like there is nothing in Tampa for cars!

check the autox/road race forum and the drag race forum for details on local places they have events an they have lots of writeups on what you need to auto-x and what it costs and site links and such.

and the tr events will sometimes list these if there is a big big meet/race type thing (and you'll see sticky threads in usually almost every forum).

also there is a turbo v6 firebird on orandoforums.com that i was looking at yesterday. perhaps an idea for ya :)

Dan brought up good points about where to check for legal events and such. As far as IBTL goes...it does stand for "In Before The Lock". When a thread starts to go downhill and people start resorting to threats, etc. the thread can get locked so that noone else can post in it. If people start to nitice that downhill slide they will post IBTL as a way to show they were there and state that the thread is starting to get ugly and off topic.
