WOW I was not expecting that much... I have friends running about 150-200 shot on theres one runs a 6.48 best time so far at sunshine with bolt on stuff.WHere did you hear about the 300 shot lol
I ran a 200 jet in my NOS dry kit with a bottle pressure hovering around 1275-1300..... So probably a good bit over 200.
That was the best setup I ever had on my old 5.0. I went TT shortly after and started splitting blocks :( After 4 motors I gave up and sold the car to a guy in Kansas.
I really loved my '92 GT.... such a fun car. Before the factory block split the first time the car was a pure menace....15psi through Twisted wedge heads with appropriate cam/lifter etc was just evil. Only car I've had to date that would spin the rear tires (275/40/17's) at 100mph just by pressing the go pedal....
This was about....5 years ago now.
you can check it out here.

nice to see another SDS user on the board, so far i know that both mattback and myself have experience in SDS.. Nice to see your on this site, I like sds as for 90% of the people out there, its all they need
The SDS system was a "plug and play" setup done by western motorsports out of canada. You just unplugged the stock Ford ECU (PCM these days?) and plugged in the SDS. Was a very easy install that used all the stock sensors.
I don't have any vehicles using SDS now, but the system definitely does work and I agree it's good enough for 90% of the people considering stand alone.

you gotta remember man, that non-girdled 302 blocks will let go of the main webbing around 550-600hp. so be careful!
Taylor Durden is 100% correct on why the blocks kept splitting.
Car would run really well and then the next thing you know... The oil pressure would be hovering around 5psi hot at idle. No rod/main noise at all... just low oil pressure.
Tear down the motor and it would look like it was ready to fall into two pieces.
So, unless you move to a block like an A4 (no longer available I hear, but others "like" it are) that can handle it...I gaurantee you WILL split blocks over and over.
Think of it this way... if you split the block you know for sure you are making good power :)
It will just be time to drop the wad on a different block.
Good luck!

well we will see I think that stuf was myth BUT were you using stock bottem end when it cracked?
Stock rebuilds all 5 times done by proffesional shops, save for the pistons which were 8.5:1 custom units by probe.
Trust us on this... The stock block will be at it's limit at the power levels you are going to be making.

i will be at 10.8:1 cr why 8.5????
I needed to have 8.5:1 CR to use pump gas with the turbo chargers.
It doesn't matter how you arrive at the final power output (to a degree anyway), just that ~500HP is all the stock block will handle.
I started off running N20 but sold the car running twin turbo chargers.
The car didn't make as much HP on the N20 and thus I didn't run into trouble with the block.
Hopefully that clears that up for you :)
I wish you luck with your project!

if you slap a main girdle on it.. it ups your limit by 50-100 hp.
and boost isnt as drastic of a comeon in power as nos so you can even get away with a little bit more.
but youll kill that block right quickly

A good sportsman block isnt that much and good for almost 100 more over a stock block.

I had a 200 wet shot on my stock bottom end 92 5.0 engine in my 91 Ranger with no problems after 35k worth of abuse.
