View Full Version : What speakers would you get?

I need some new 5x7/6x8 speakers since the ones I bought from crutchfield blew the woofers somehow. I really don't know how since I have a crossover going to them and didn't use them for any bass. Now what speakers wil give me the best highs and not blow the woofers? I am looking at cheap speakers pretty much for replacements. Around $50 a pair because thats how much the old ones were and they are being replaced free. Here are the options:

Basically its between Infinity references, JBL GTOs, Kenwoods, Polks, and Sonys. I have subs so these aren't needed for bass, but if they could handle some midbass it would be good. The ones I have are 3 way, so give some good highs, which I love. I have a 560 watt 4 channel amp pushing them, but only turned up like half way. Thanks for any help.

between those companies I would definately go with infinity

Go to a local shop and see if they have any discoed items they want to get rid up and talk them down.. I got earthquake 5x7 for 55 a set cus the shop didnt want to carrie them anymore.

Well these are free from crutchfield because my other ones blew. I can get $100 towards 2 pairs and pay the difference but this is my GFs car and I just want it to sound decent. It actually sounds good now. I don't use them for bass anyways so you can't even tell the woofer is blown unless you take the grills off and look. I'd just be mad if I get different ones and they don't produce the highs I want like my blown ones do now. I was thinking Infinity myself, but those tweeters look awfully small.

Anythng over 100watts should be good. My door speakers perform best at 110w to 125w. Just depends what you want.

Well the highest on that list are 60RMS. Mine now are like 100RMS I believe or something like that. I guess Infinitys it is.
