I remember the stock speakers in my old car, they weren't even holding onto the edge anymore, it sounded like the icecream truck speaker

The stock speakers in my dsm are the worst EVAR! They're rated at like 15w according to the little ink numbers on the back of them. Unfortunately the front two are blown from the time I unwisely turned the volume up past 1/4. Sadly, that was the first time I had turned on the head unit I installed in the car. :(

mine sound decent..producing correct sound
for about 3 minutes and @ low volumes.. then they warm up and all hell breaks loose

the new slk 500s have mb quart Qs( the qsds) stock with an mbquart10. and M3s have nice harmon kardon setups, I was thinking of those

good for the qsd's and HK's but still, what head, how good is the cd player? what kinda amps whats the rms ratings etc etc..

I've never heard a factory setup I liked. And my ear isn't even trained well. I've never heard a m-b system really put through it's paces, but my uncle has had several high-end cars with stock stereos that were not so great.
