I guess I'm getting back to audio now. I'm using a 6 ch ADS PH15 amp (very old school) and I need a set of mids/highs to replace the current Sony speakers. I'm looking to pay up to $150 (new or used). For that price range, what would you guys recommend, mostly for SQ since my sub is only 8". Since the 6.5" co-ax are cheaper than the components, is it better to get a better brand of co-ax than a not as good components? I can get a set of Focal on ebay for less than $150, but that's for co-ax. MB, Boston, Diamond, Focal, Infinity, Polk, Kicker???

Anyone have a set they want to sell?

How much were the DLS? They look pretty nice.

Components or Co-ax? Are components that much better?

got a really good deal on mine... not sure what the retail is on those. if you're interested in dls stuff, go to tropical audio in tampa and talk to eddie. he's the only authorized dealer in the area (other than one or 2 in orlando). its really nice stuff.

i have components and wouldn't give them up for coaxes unless you pryed them from my cold dead hands.

those comments dont neccesarily mean you don't work hard for your money or not (i have no idea one way or the other, nor do i care) it just means you have lots of money to throw around on stuff like zapco amps and focal component sets to put in your supra. the expression "money coming out the wazoo" is quite similar in origin. or you could be a stripper. in which case you really would physically have to pull the money out of your ass to use it.

Found a set of ADS components for a really good deal. Probably have it installed in the next week so I'll leave an update of what they sound like.

I had a set of MB Quart components, they're the lower end, I think QM130 or something, and they didn't sound too great. Maybe it's because of the installation. It sounds decent when the motor isn't on, but the motor kind of drowns out the sound. Weren't enough mid-bass from the mids and the highs were kind of lacking, was feed plenty of power from the ADS amp. Any tips on installation in an Integra GSR?
