Well the guy really didnt want to race but I made him.
We lined up in the 5/6 lane and I talked to the track dude and told him what we were doing!

Hes a local name Brad???
These are his mods:
6lb Lower pulley (Dynod 474rwhp/470wtq)
UPR CAI
BBK Headers
X pipe
Catback
Autologic chip
Here are the results:
Him ................................................Me
.R/T...418.........................................60 6
60'...2.128....................................... 1.783
330...5.733......................................5 .306
1/8...8.576.......................................8. 196
MPH...87.87.....................................86 .93
1000...10.96....................................10 .665
1/4...12.95......................................12. 728
MPH...113.37...................................109 .37

I shifted just good enough to win I have some left!

The reson I wanted to run him was he was the fastest 03 there and he had run a 12.5ish and I ran a 12.6ish so I thought he could bring a little more out of me,but he couldnt:lol:

One down ..................and Aharon to go:D

with that kind of power he should be alot faster. Probably a poor driver

Half Fast

What's pathetic is I run much faster traps and ET's with less HP.

Yeah had to kil it!!!!

He did run a 12.5 on those tires in the morning right away!
Im thinking he has tuning issues he not aware of!But his car should run 11s in the winter.
If he had a auto he would already be there.

You don't seem to realize that Mustangs don't trap 119 + and still run low 12's or high 11's like turboed four bangers do.

113 is good for a 11.9x with best case scenario on traction for a 3,700 lbs. car..

I am not talking about the time, more the mph vs power.

Not true at all. High powered Mustangs on streets tires are no different than any other high horespower Camaro, Civic or Eclipse on street tires. I have seen many Mustangs go high 11's with 125+ mph traps. 113mph is not impressive for that power level at that Cobra's weight. He should be in the 120 mph range. I went 116 mph on slicks 2 years ago with almost 100 less rwhp and 150 lbs less race weight. That 03's torque curve is much broader than my car on the bottle. My torque falls off in the upper rpms hard as bottle pressure drops. That Cobra should be in the 120 range all day long IMO.

MPH doesn't always tell the whole tale. Higher MPH could mean a couple of things, car spun out of the whole, etc. All things being equal a mid 12 second car will run in the mid 113-115mph, again depending on the setup (look at Dragin's car, sick top end power=high mph)
If we go by logic you are stating, then I should be running 140ish with my 10.0x passes..
Also, Da Truth.. if your two 60' times would've been closer he would've had you by 3-4 tenths given those times..

I know a similiar one that traps 118.
That is about where it should have been!

How do you figure..? I have not been to the track in years. My old times are better than this guys current times.. My best cam only time was 12.28 at 116mph with a 2.0 60ft.. My 1/8th was 7.7 at 92mph.. I was spinning on the one, two and third shift.. How would that 03 have beat me?

he had 2 tenths on you at the tree which he promptly lost plus two more in his 60' time. Based on the times listed, he lost the race in the 60' times. All that I was saying is that if you guys would've both cut 1.7x 60' times, he would be 2 tenths out on you to begin with due to his lead off the tree. Also, I was commenting on the times you posted, not your best time from some other run that you didn't post the numbers to..
I don't know what times your car is capable of, only what you put on this post.

though, I don't know anything about drag racing so why even listen...

I think I see the confusion. You confused me with the person who started this thread.. vetkiller. I have never raced a 03 Cobra at the track.. If I cut a 1.7 60 foot I would be happy as hell.. Thats like a mid 11 for me:)

That stang had either some serios traction issues, needs some serious tuning, or needs a better driver. I've seen those things bone stock with only drag radials pull mid 12's. There's one up here at bithlo with similar mods that pulls high 11's on drag radials!
