Great event today. 27 drivers. Not bad considering conflicting local events. We each burned off 8 runs on a challenging 40-second course. (my best was 38.8, FTD was in the 37's)
The SunRiders Autox (http://www.sunridersautocross.com) website is being difficult and won't allow me to upload files at the moment, so I put the results here temporarily if anyone is interested: Temp Results (http://web.tampabay.rr.com/shad/Temp/)
We had a lot of new faces out there today. Any of them from here?
I wish I could afford to attend the CFR event at FSF tomorrow. Y'all have fun.

yeah. i was in the red neon. that was a blast and i can't wait until i can go again. and had i not killed a cone on my last run, i could have gotten a 42 second run. but practice makes perfect.

There is no perfection in autocross. I didn't believe it at first, but the more I do it, the more I believe it to be true. Even the best autocrossers will come back from their best run and say "I could have gone faster if..."
This is what feeds the addiction. :D
Glad you enjoyed your first time!

Yep. I'm from here. This was where I found out that the SR AutoX Club existed. I had a lot of fun leaving $20 worth of rubber on the course even if I did come in dead last among the novices. I guess that means I can only get better (or go broke buying tires or both) :)
I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next event.

Okay, I don't usually recommend a lot of car mods for beginners, but aside from tires and alignment, one thing I would definitely recommend for your car would be a big rear sway bar. (preferably an adjustable one) It will do wonders for your ability to both put down power and get the car to rotate when you want it to.
Disclaimer: Consider what class this will put you into if you intend to get serious with SCCA competition. (It's legal for STS, which is probably the best place to try to run a Probe)

I wonder if there is any correlation between autocrossing and gambling...
