thats ok man... i feel for ya... my blazer was stuck for a day an a half in a "Dried" pond bed

it has 32's on it and a 3" trail master suspension lift... it still got stuck... it was sitting on the floor boards. my door wouldnt open all the way cuz it was stuck so bad, i had to crawl out the window. The surface looked like a desert: dried and cracked, but apparantly 2"-4" below it was MUCK... you could walk across it... but not drive.

DAMN!!! What kind of hydraulics that boy got on the Chebby? :lol:

Getting stuck is awesome. I got stuck doing donuts in soft sand once. Hit the brakes while sliding, and just dug in. Took 6 people pushing on the front and some careful throttle control to unbury it. Worst part was our feet SINKING into the sand :D

yea, that was gettin stuck, Man-style... fo sho. there was mud all up under the body work and in the frame.

not as bad as when i got my OTHER blazer stuck in a river... in the middle of Perrysburg Ohio... an upscale suburb of Toledo... the Man got involved in taht one, but i dont have pics of it.

Heres a map of the place where i got my OTHER truck stuck. (1978 K5 Blazer)

4 = 4Wheel drive Diversified

Rectangle =Downtown Maumee
Square =Downtown Perrysburg
Line =Path i took
X =Where i ended up

The blue path is a squiggle on land, cuz theres a State park there, and thats how the path goes, and theres a boat ramp right by the water, but the water was low and the rocky river bed was showing, so i drove around in the river of about a 1' of water... little did i know, the rocky bed was only around the base of the ramp. after i strayed away from it, it turned into silt. when my front tires went over the silt, it softened it up and when my rear tires followed the tracks, they sank, up to the hubs. it was weird, this was about 630am. but, oddly, the water looked like it was rising, like a tide. either that or my truck was sinking even more. i was gettin pretty damn scared/worried. :o I tried to dig it out, i took off my pants and was in my boxers, no shoes or socks, took my shirt off. I wasnt makin any progress cuz its... sandy/silt. it just kept falling in. i cut the motor, and walked to shore... about 100yds. I walked to a grocery store and called my mom on the cell fone. well, my bed rails are about 5' tall and when i got the truck back ($1000 later) there were watermarks about halfway up the tailgate and silt had settled in my interior. I had about 3 gallons of water in my tank, my carb was rusted, internally. i had river rocks, gritty silt and sand all up in my brakes, hubs, inside my frame rails, ontop of my axles... my truck was junk after that. i took my liftkit and suspension off it, my rag top off, my CB out, my engine, and my 32's and junked it... it was sad really.

Get a winch :)

flubyux2
08-30-2003, 07:08 PM
the winch didnt work... so even if i did have one, it wouldnt have worked.

the 8000 LB winch on the Wrecker couldnt pull it out. the come-a-long couldnt pull it out... the wrecker had to lock the winch and just use the 450lb/ft of Diesel torque to pull me out... and it worked

I was talking to jesse :), but an 8k winch with the truck anchored to a tree managed to pull my 6k lb truck when it was buried to the frame in muck...so damn...you musdta did a number !!!!!

theres a guy that can build a custom bumper for you. he does it for Wranglers, but i dont know how much he charges. he builds rollcages for them too. He works at a garage here in St. Pete. He could builda bumper to hold a nice winch for you.

Crazy mofos! :lol:

Can I come off-roading with you? Mitsubishi refers to my car as "4wd" in the tech manual. The rear limited slip differential is supposedly "to help deliver power in the one in a million chance of tires getting stuck in mud" (it actually says that.). Plus, I'm riding 4x4 style on 14 inch wheels.... :nerd:

Dude, flubyux2, I have been offroading there where you got your truck stuck. Whats that place called? STI or something like that? I forgot. Anyway, this guy I know got his new truck stuck there and it got all shot up with bullets by the time he came back for it.

Also, we broke this kid's transmission on his Bronco there at like four in the morning. Its by Airport highway, right? Do you know Bronco Mike, he had to pull the truck home. Crazy night, we used Jagarmeister to start fire to stay warm.

i know exactly what place you are talkin about... you go out airport hwy and then take a right on a side street... if you take a left, you end up going by the airport. then you have to go down the Railroad access path for like a mile or something.

i took my old blazer there and got it stuck... but it was cuz the battery cable got shredded and grounded out and discharge the whole battery... couldnt start it back up.

the place where i took those pics was in the back of my property, out east, by cedar point.
