http://ddaudio.com/images/productPics/2000a_10sidea.jpg

3500 Series Subs (http://ddaudio.com/caraudio/woofers.asp?series=3500c) , Theyre a step up from the 2000's and a little more bad ass, you can see the obvious DVC terminals that the 2000's dont have
http://ddaudio.com/images/productPics/3500c_12side.jpg

9100 Series Subs (http://ddaudio.com/caraudio/woofers.asp?series=9100c) is where things start to get good. this is where they start getting serious... and non-cheap.
http://ddaudio.com/images/productPics/9100c_aside.jpg

9500 Series Subs (http://ddaudio.com/caraudio/woofers.asp?series=9500e) is where you can go to get Straight up competition subs to run on the street. the prices are gettin real serious here.
http://ddaudio.com/images/productPics/9500e_10side.jpg

9900 Series Subs (http://ddaudio.com/caraudio/woofers.asp?series=9900b) is where you will turn your insides into goo. These are where its at... if you can afford it, DO EET. ever hear of QUAD VOICE COILS?!?!

My friend who ran his own Stereo shop chose DD subs over MMATS, PPI, and all the rest... he ran 4 9100 12's in the back of his 2001 Jimmy. but this was down in Naples, he sort of got out of it all and started doing Jet ski's full time; racing and running a jet ski shop... he just moved out to Lake Havasu, AZ and opend up a marina/boat rental... ever watch Girls Gone Wild... they filmed it during Spring break at Lake Havasu. but thats all beside the point. A few years ago, DD audio built the MMATS subs, when MMATS held a world record. DD audio is Industrial strength equipment, for the consumer. They build the Sound systems that they use in Movie theaters and what not. and the put all that tech and R&D into their car audio. I would love to run some in my car.... just have to find a place to buy dem.

I forgot to add, DD Audio will upgrade/rebuild your speakers as time goes on. so if they come out w/ a speaker that has better parts on it than the one you bought a few months ago, talk to them and they will install the new parts on your old subs.

I also found out they use Carbonfiber/Fiberglass to produce their Dust caps... and Im not sure if you all know this, but Dust caps arent there to keep dust off the speaker, they are there to help reinforce the cone of the speaker to keep it from flexing during high SPL. when's the last time you saw a speaker w/ Carbonfiber in it?!

The cones that those Carbon fiber dust caps reinforce are made of 25% Kevlar... would that make them 25% bullet proof??

more than you might think... dragster makes a carbon fiber comp set, dls has a kevlar sandwich cone (with a honeycomb layer inbetween like an indy car! woo!) image dynamics mids have carbon fiber cones... it's everywhere these days. like vd.

where'd you get 19 lbs from? that thing is bigger than my head! if thats only 19 pounds, these guys must have some sort of magical, jesus-like ability to turn heavy ass magnets into lesser magnets. :dunno:

Elemental designs makes a ridiculous speaker too. The 18Q. no other specs or anything....

Here is what they say on their website:

"The Elemental Designs 18Q was built and designed for one reason. To get loud, stupid loud.

This speaker does not sound good, it does not make music, it just scares the hell out of anyone in the same state. 10,000wRMS / 20,000wPeak it is not a driver to be messed with. 4" coil, 600oz Motor structure, Cast Alumn basket, Quad 1.2ohm coils are just some of the features on this ridiculously overdone speaker. Design'd for ultimate motor strength and efficiency (BL - 43 T/m) (db - 93.4 db 1w/1m).

This is not a stock speaker, it is not a production stocking driver. Please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery on this very large, very special driver (or more depending on parts avaliability)."

Try listening to alma gates flat piston ppis that she used. The president of our team has a signed one and they do not sound except for one freq. Bad ass speakers though.

the 3510 is $329 retail, the 3512 is $339... the 3515 is like $359..

see, the weight of the magnet is not always the deciding factor... if i have a magnet that is made of the same material that was used in old-school speakers... it would HAVE to be huge and heavy to have the power needed to make good sound.. but nowadays, magnets dont HAVE to be heavy cuz they have new alloys w/ strontium and barium and shit like that... so the good speakers dont need heavy ass magnets to hit high spl... i wouldnt judge a speaker's quality by its magnet weight. besides, i dont want anything ridiculously ludicris like that.

a 3510 is all i need

REs are bad ass though. Underpriced and very good speakers. When i team was getting a bunch of them we talked with the Terry, the owner(i guess). We told him what we wanted and the greatest thing i have heard "Ya we start building those speakers tommorrow and they should be there in a week". Start building our speakers?drool....
