Same motor as the NA Supra. Difficult but not impossible as long as you got LOTS of cash.

Look HERE (http://www.powerhouseracing.com/is300_turbo.shtml) .

Or HERE (http://www.swiftracing.com/) .

Or maybe even HERE (http://www.clublexus.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=29) .

Almost forgot this one HERE (http://www.suprastore.com/enairin.html) .

Then there is this one HERE (http://www.toyomoto.com/is300.htm) .

Get the point yet...

if you really want to have a super clean car; buy a rs200 bellhousing, get a rwd 3sgte and there you go. it will handle sooo much better. or you could drop in the mighty 1jz

you COULD be JDM and make it the IS200.... youd have 2/3's of a 7MGTE :tard:

the 1JZ could work, just have to splice it to work w/ the rest of the car's harness... just like swapping a 1JZ in a MK3

yea just like me.:D i would go for the 3sgte powered(rs200T) version. it would save weight, handle better and be the nicest is around IMO;)

a little custom work, but well worth it. i dont know if a 1g gte would fit or not. that would be cute.

Does anybody know about the modifications and different wiring that I need to do if im gonna do a 3s-gte swap? has anybody done it on the IS300 yet swapping a 3s-gte motor?

fuck all the wireing. just get a DFI, like a haltech, eletromotive, sds or what ever. it makes things so much easyer and you will find hp in places a stock ecu could never look. prices on these are comming down hard core. ive seen systems for sale well below $1000

Nice! id get the haltech then ill research more stuff on the 3s-gte

haltech is not for the faint of heart... prepare to spend MANY MANY hours or paying someone else many many dollars to complete it... When your done expect to spend 200-600 dollars getting it tuned on a dyno as well....

Good luck, its just not easy

seriously look into just getting a kit...already made for your car and call it a day...and then do your 6spd tranny swap some other time.

ok well i will most likely be helping out streetside with the swap if he ever does one...lets say for example hes going to swap 3sgte... would you suggest he buy some motor mounts?? what major modifications are we going to have to make and as for wiring, what harness are we giong to be using?? the is300 is a freaking computer on 4 wheels iam tellin ya... hehe but yeah if the actual install of the motor isnt a problem he might consider that route...if we can just get some help electronic wise then we are on the way heh...but now that i think of it dood its pretty much a baby kept new car dont get rid of that motor, look at those sites and just do the kit..just my thoughts

Why would you waste your time going from a 6 cylinder to a 4 cylinder engine? If your going to do a swap swap the 2JZ-GTE twin turbo motor in. If you use the automatic tranny you should be able to fit it in no problem. In the long run it won't cost any more than having to do all the wiring and mounts and screwing with convertion crap like doing a 3sgte swap and you'll have a better base to work with if you need more HP.

i kind of helped him narrow down his choices, so its down to... buying a turbo kit for the IS, or buying an s14 and swapping like all of us in the nissan crowd...

And you think that trying to swap a S14 motor into an IS frame would be cheaper?
Come on wouldn't this be just mean looking...http://www.toyomoto.com/gfx/turbokit_picture3.gif

Sorry. The message was kind of ambiguous. Thought you ment an s14 motor and putting that in the IS, not buying a whole new car and swapping a motor into that.
