Just seeing what response I am going to get if I can arrange a few $100 payouts to the fastest radial and non-radial cars at the next Track Event (August 16th).

Any of you hardcore "street racers " game ?

Or are you skeeered ? :smirk:

Answer up if you are game.

I wont make it to this event but I would like to see maybe..fastest front drive and fastest rear drive and fastest AWD.
Us front drivers will never see 11's on street tires, whereas some of the V8 folks will.

of course anything is possible. Let me clarify. I dont think there will be any front drivers at the track day that can compete with the fastest rear drivers.

Not enough FWD cars to have a separate class and especially not enough AWD cars.

Therefore it will depend upon tires and consistancy.

More exact details later after I get some feedback.

Also this will not be a bracket style race.

i realy hope to have the car back together by then. I have everything i just need to find the time to put it all back together. I will run the street tire class if done but i dont think anyone will beat jerry on street tires.

Allright Scott, lets get this straight. What do you consider a street tire?I would think an ET STREET would be a street tire, right.LOL

Mr 2

Drag radials and slicks in one group.

Regular street radials in another.

Yeah I know people run drag radials on the street (my car has them) but they are closer to slicks than regular radials.

We have a non-radial Z06 that I think that can run if you really want to shell out $100.

I think drag radials are alot closer to regular performance radials than slicks. I pull almost the same 60's(about .1 faster) with my AVSs and cheap kumhos than withthe drag radials. But them I run small 225-50-16s too

damn, that is a good idea

wish i had a car togeter, damn it.

and yeah V8 will go 11s on street tires. i went solid 11s on cheap tires from pepboys. ....it was a long time ago though

this may be the best idea to get street racers to the track i've heard....give them money it they win and level it by crapy tires.

This makes it more of a drivers race but don't forget there will be a all out slicks class too.

I would say nittos are more of a street tire and Et streets deffinitely belongs in the slicks class.

I dunno, but I know this 1 guy that cuts the same 60/ft on nittos that most cars cut on slicks. So i think a nitto should be in the same class as a slick. But Fordman this is a great idea i think and if i had a car i would be in but ya know

Where do I sign up? I will be on a new pair of ET streets so I am not sure how they will work. As long as I can be WOT and on the gas right out of the hole I should be ok. I can't wait!!!

Mark

P.S. Fordman: Floyd and a few others are interested it running too. Please PM me.
