Velle vs. Tubo Civic and 68 Firebird [Archive]

My first two runs were with Ron in the turbo civic. Looked like a pretty nice car. First run I think he had a problem, I pulled pretty good, even with fouled plugs ;) . Second run I went when he hit it. My car ran better and I pulled on him better. Not a bad running car though, and the guy seemed pretty cool.

The guy in the firebird said he wasn't gonna spray, I said it didn't matter either way, it was up to him. Started in second gear I jumped pretty good, then third started to pull pretty hard so I shut it down. He went by and I could smell the spray. I guess he says he didn't spray, but I'm not a jackass, I could hear it in the motor. I think he was a little shocked that he got beat, he didn't look to happy.

Does anyone have realistic horsepower number on the Civic or is it more "classified" information?

what took you guys so damn long to race, I was right behind you next to mike and the whole way across and back you guys were almost stopped and then one of you would go and the other one would take off after him, you should've stopped and then gone or done a 3 honks type thing from a roll, cause I was filming it but then just gave up after awhile cause you guys took so long, lol

We both had to go from rolls, I need tires really bad, I think he does too, then a couple times I put it in 1st gear, and he thought I was going. I'd like to get my car on tape though, see how it looks. Probably at track day.

Eric I have to admit, you got me on the corners, I was gonna ask if you guys wanted to come, but we were running pretty late. Next time I take her out thought I'll let you know. You can beat up on me with the Scoob.

Get a vid of it chewing up those Mickey's you've got on there now before you swap for some new tires. You might as well destroy em if you plan on taking them off anyway and burnouts are always cool. :D

Definitely look forward to seeing your car run at the track day. Any chance your pops is going to bring one of his hotrods out? :o

I'm not sure if his will be ready for the track by then. I think my car would look slow next to his anyway, But I'm probably gonna steal his tires, so that should be some fun. Trying to get a bigger carb for it too, its getting choked right now. :(

Screw the carb, go EFI on that pig. :D I couldn't jet a carb to save my life, but I could help out with fuel mapping on a standalone fuel computer. Your dad would disown you for doing something like that to the car. :lol:

Did you find a trailer for it yet? If you end up needing a tow vehicle, let me know, might be able to help out.

Should be out there. No plans to run my little commuter econobox, but definitely want to be down there to watch some of Tampa's faster cars put some laps in.

Yeah, its a red car. I should be out at the track day. I put slicks on the car and destroyed the inside of the tranny, so if its back together by then, I'll be there.

I haven't had it at the track yet, so I have no idea what its gonna do. Should be somewhere in the 10's. Hopefully it goes straight, I dont have any seat-time at the track

Thats Ivans Firebird. From what I gather... Its probably a mid 13 second car on motor. And then he spray a healthy shot on top. I was neck and neck with him with me on motor and him on spray.. Id say its around a 118-121 mph car on spray. Its very hard to tell...but that would be my best guess

Yeah, he was trying to say he didn't spray when he ran me. There's no way he didn't. I walked him pretty good from 2nd to 3rd, so I didn't feel the need to keep going, my car is a little loud out there.

Just to let some of you know, Ivan (red 68 Firebird) Has a recently put a completely diffrent setup (motor) in his car within the last month that is nowhere near a 13 sec car, he runs now on motor what he ran on the spray before.. And 67 Chevelle guy, I was'nt there so I cannot confirm this, but according to a reliable sorce I herd that you won the roll race, then he ran you from a dig and you lost that one.

We didn't ever go from a dig, we both said we spin way to much for that. We went 1 time. In third gear I was pulling pretty good, so I didn't see the need to keep going. Anytime he wants to run again, I will go. Donnie (Exhaust Ect.) was the only person behind us, so I would love to know who said I lost from a dig.

Like I said, he wouldn't even talk to me after, seemed pretty pissed off that he lost. If he can't handle losing, then he shouldn't come out. There are some serious cars out now.

By now everyone knows otherwise. i know there cant be to many 15 sec cars i can race so if anyone wants to race i'm calling out all lawnmowers,gopeds,mopeds and lark scooters but be nice and give me a chance please dont spray!!! you dont need to

Well I heard you were handing some people their asses the week before, so I wouldn't say your slow. I've got a John Deere lawn mower you can run, but she's bored .60 over, so I dont know.

The guy who set up the race was Donnie (Exhuast Ect). And just so everybody knows, if I lose a race, I'm not gonna come on here and make up some B.S. story about how I won. I will give the guy his props and thats the end of it.
