Kirk

I think it would be cool to have another meet and maybe more people come out to this one! Same place, Ft Desoto North Beach..

What is the best date for everyone? Of course on a Saturday but when..?

How bout somewhere else, it's hot as fuck out and that is a really long traffic filled drive on midday saturday. Why not an evening time meet at a resturant? Just offering a suggestion.

how about on the beaches on gulf to bay to clearwater!

I leave early in the morning. No traffic.

Try on a Sunday... NOOOOOOOOOOO traffic to Ft. Desoto on Sundays!

Um... tomorrow's good for me. I'm always up for a BBQ :D

how about after i have the corolla running, riding with someone in a group of cars that every 5 mins someone has to stop or has some sorta hold up sucks.

also why go way out to ft desoto, why not have an afternoon, or evning thing at a chilies. somthing simple. its not like a national supra convention where we need to accomidate and entertain 400 people. its like 10 people hanging out and talking cars.

True well you argue and pick a new place... driving doesn't hurt me and BTW it took me literally 30 minutes only to get there.

Wussies!!!! :D

hey i never said it was a more then 30 mins. but when you have 6 goofballs following, and the one directly behing you decides to head up the wrong road. and you have to sit and wait for 30 mins then that makes it an hour. and this and similar things happened to us like 4 or 5 times, making a 30 min trip into 3 hours.

like i said before. when my cars is togather, i'll organize a meet. but not till then

It's a 70 minute drive for me, so something less far to drive is a lot more appealing, driving forever and standing out in the blazing heat all day doesnt really sound like fun to me.

Wow listen to all the lil bitching goin on......Welll kirk i'm down for FT. Desoto again....as you saw i love the sun....why i live in florida....anyways at night you cant see the cars as well and in a resturant it would defeat the whole purpose of seeing the cars and also keep other non car people from seeing us have a respectful meet and not racing or starting trouble.....so Ft. Desoto or another beach.....Is everyone gothic or something.....by the way a tan helps with the ladies

MR2Driver - hes telling the truth.

If you guys wanna set it up somewhere else thats cool... I am up for anything.. If I have to drive 4 hours I don't care....... driving doesn't hurt me.. nor the sun.

I work in the sun 40+ hours a week to be bitchin about a couple of hours of under shade and in sun...... Anywhere is cool with me! you guys fight it off and wake me up when you guys think of a plan

We could meet at the next autox at FSF on 8/30. Some of you might even try it for yourself. :p

im game... anyone here i can ride shotgun with (at the auto-x?) i've been meaning to get into this.. but dont have enough experience.... And greg those beaches (the ones on causeway are packed on weekends)... I think we should meet at gregs house.. hes got a BBQ.. enough parking space.. a lake in the back.. a pool.. and his mom isnt here yet.. so she cant regulate.. on anything...

dont need experance. you need a car, a helment and 30$
they have loaner helments and anything with 4 wheels counts as a car, it doent even need to be yours.

Kirk
07-21-2003, 12:58 PM
If you guys want to do that.... I'll throw some tires on my car and hit the track as well :D

But preferrably I'd rather go somewhere where we can meet up.. get something to eat.. shoot the shit, because I am not sure if everyone here has the $ or is really interested in AutoX even though I know I'd probably get hooked on it..

I think the point of the meet is to attract as many people as we can from the Toyota section.. the more and more we have the more people will go... and this section will blow up finally.. its already getting more traffic.. i remember putting crap up here and waiting 3 days and still im the last person that has posted in here LOL............ lets liven up this place.. Everyone I've met so far has been pretty cool.... doesn't hurt to make more friends! ;)

if you take that cruser to a few autox's you will find out just how hard you really can push that thing. it will make you a much better SUV driver. but leave the sterio off at the event.

in that same respect. anyone who has never been to an autox, once you go you will feel way more in control of your car on the street then you ever have before. the effects are immadate, if you are thinking to your self. "no im a really good driver, i dont need no autox" then you are the ones in even more need of some learning.

I've done cone runs before in the truck, but never an official timed autox. Plus, it was before the new suspension went in. DEFINITELY gave me a better feel for my baby. I'll do it again in a damn heartbeat.

I think it would be fun to meet at an autox. It may be a long day for those who participate in the event, but you can come out in the afternoon if you just want to spectate. After the event we could cruise to a restaurant or something to BS some more. The event should end ~3pm, registration closes at 9:30am for those who want to race.

Kirk

Been there a number of time and it was nice.

There is a nice place there near the tree's on the side which is nice viewing spot that can hold alot of people.

Ill bring out my mega camera and take some pics of flyign by cars. Will take some time to process the films, but they are gonna be some awesome pics :)

No but if you plan on doing any more any time soon its a good idea.

Muddy

Membership is $70 for one year. Entry fee is $30 for non-members and $20 for members. It isn't worth joining unless you decide that you want to get serious and do at least 7 events a year, or maybe you really like sportscar magazine. ;)

If it's at an autocross, I'll most definately be there...

gotta show all your power hungry people that 115 rwhp is hard to beat;)

I think muddy just wants to drive something other than the Camaro:P

Muddy

Not true! I can't wait to start racing my japanese camaro. It will never be as competitive as the mr2, but my poopra will be more fun.

At the current rate that the Supra is being built, I'll have graduated, have a good job, and be moving the MR2 to SM2, with the 1mz V6 with the blower... and then ill beat him at the drag strip AND road courses AND autocross.

He stands no chance:)

Muddy
07-23-2003, 08:09 PM
ooooooh that hurts. Your damn mr2 has been eating all my money in the form of tires. How many sets have we gone through this season?
I will be running the supra next season and by the end of the season it will have >350 rwhp and a decent suspension. That will make me happy, no shit talking necessary. ;)

PseudoRealityX
07-23-2003, 10:06 PM
awwww, ok:)

Next year, I'm going to try to stuff 225s upfront and 245s in the rear.... only issue is clearance in the rear...and the fact they are road race compound:) should be fun...

Kirk
07-24-2003, 05:18 PM
The Supra should tear up the MR2 with right suspension modifications. The MR2 is stock right?

Do I hear ST sways and tein setup ?? :D

I am SOOO tempted to order a set of type RAs, but the $1800 price tag is a bit steep. It looks like I will be going with bilstein/eibach/st. I have already purchased the bilsteins.

Sounds good to me. Saturday 8/30 is probably the best day. I will make sure to get there early and make myself available for anyone that wants a ride. For those who have the cajones to participate, I will also be available to take a ride with you and give you some tips. ;)

Brian will be able to help you in the morning as soon as he changes my tires :P:P:P:P:P

Hoosiers should be on by then....we might be running 225s all around, as I dont see the point in getting a new set of 205 upfront for "practice" when practice is only 1 event....

07-29-2003, 05:44 AM
hey guys, my house is a great idea, we'll have a huge B-B-Q and open fire, park all the cars. then do some drag racing on Tower, which is the local highschool drag strip/drift strip.

That's fine. It just makes it easier for me to leave while you have to change your tires in 110* heat.

Umm, how about no?

If you want to street race and act like a moron, don't come near the autocross.
