Federal 595 RS-R

can you get them? must be the "RS-R" as while appearing identical, the regular RS is more of a drifters tire and does not suit track driving as well. They advertise them in magazines and had them on display at SEMA so they intend to sell them here just no-one has them listed.

pretty easy size 225/45/17

because they are cheap, and I want to try the RS-R... the 180 treadwear RS version did not keep up with the hottest street tires, however the 140 RS-R also has reinforced sidewalls and the softer compound... I need to test it to see if it's the new RE01R (which I ran all last year) except RE01R is just a bit pricey for how much track driving I do.

I have a 25% rebate on a set of Dunlop direzza Z1's From the Rack if I need to use it I will pick up them, since they are also on my "must test" list.

I don't know how often you race, but the RE01R while a great tire and very tolerant of temperature. offers little to no feedback compared to a lot of other tires.

I don't race unfortunately (crappy car) but my experience with the federals isn't that good. I know the Falken azenies and the hankook rs2 have a higher tread wear at 200, but they are an auto cross/ road racing tire. Are you daily driving this car and tracking it or just strait track... ?

I give you an Idea, the tires on the car which have turned from bridgestones to bridgeROCKS. were driven on, Sebring 2 track days, 18,000 road miles did time attack on the following tracks.

Pocono East,
Mid Ohio
Hallett
Miller
Pueblo
Mid America
South Bend Motor speedway
and
Moroso

I rarely autocross anymore, but I do rallycross and organize road rallies,

I also instruct
with PCA and a few other clubs, so. I go through 12-16 tires every year.

Take a look at the Federal RS-R it should be a bit faster then either the hankook or the azenis, the RS was close but was designed to be more forgiving so your average drifter could "hang them out"

Federal is doing what Falken did 10 years ago, changing their image by putting lots of resources into building a class leading tire. if it's priced like a federal I'm all over it.

here is the deal, they are 1 month out, I have to drive on my maypops for another 30 days, unless you have some pull.

Here is a good shot of them, you can also see they allready have their DOT stamp so are legal for US sales.

Thanks for the info... My experience with federal is with normal passenger tires in low profile sizes, nothing really performance wise. I can call my supplier to see if they can get them. I don't really have pull since I don't buy them direct from china ( corporate headquarters ). But it never hurts to ask.

My supplier can't get a hold of these yet. They don't come up in the system. In the previous post you stated that they were a month out right? I even did an internet search and nobody on the internet seems to be selling them ether.

Hey thanks, if you want to match edge racing on some azenis 615 in the meantime I'd prefer to give the business to someone in Tampa, and have you mount and balance their price with shipping was 462.68 so 115.67 each that should afford you a reasonable profit?

Edge racing sells in such high volume that they can afford to make $4 dollars worth of profit per tire. thats the reason it becomes increasingly difficult for us to match that price. I can do it for $120 per tire and and $20 mounting and balancing per wheel. I don't have them in stock but I can have them here the next day.

No problem I just assumed with getting your tires delivered from the local distributor you can match the price, no sweat I can still order them and bring them by for mounting. while I like supporting local vendors, I like my money just as much. hey I am trying to wait for the federals. if they got put on the boat this week, we can assume another 30 days or so to come over get through customs and into the supply chain... I'm willing to wait.

I WILL give you a hint, once I start using them and if they are any good, you'll be the only one around that knows about them and will clean up until the rack or DTD gets them on their radar. they SHOULD be the fastest 140 treadwear tire available at any price. that is a big deal with the SCCA and Street tire auto crossers.

thanks for the heads up. I will definitely keep them in mind when they get here. Now usually it takes about 6-8 weeks for the boat ride and customs clear. So you might need something to hold you over till then.
